What’s Wrong With Masturbation?

Masturbation mimics sexual process in the brain. During regular sexual process chemicals are released that narrows focus and helps to bond a person to his or her spouse. Research has shown that the powerful release of chemicals present during masturbation can be used to condition people to react to sexually deviant behavior. This may be why some have advocated the use of masturbation in clinical settings.

However, because masturbation simulates the sexual arousal and bonding that occurs between a committed man and woman there is danger in using it outside of this type of relationship. This is what can lead to sexual attachment to objects or even seeing others as objects.

Masturbation typically is used in conjunction pornography viewing and other indulgence in other sexual compulsions to gain pleasure from the interaction with the stimuli.
