Very well said and I say ‘Amen’!

These movie clips are absolutely amazing for your description. It has to feel so relieving to know that there is something out there that can help describe what you’ve been going through. I now a little better understanding of your personal struggle whereas I’ve just thought “oh, he’s ok. He’ll get over it. He’s strong.” I’m so sorry for my passive attitude and lack of understanding for you.

Missorr, I have to say that you have no reason to be sorry. One thing that’s so very common with those who are addicted to something is to keep it private. It’s almost like I was guarding it so no one could take it from me. I was my one thing that I had. I’m finding now however, that as I share my story and open up to others about the pain and prison that addiction is, it’s liberating!

I find my hope in Christ and with the program I’m participating in currently I am finding freedom from porn addiction!

  4. Augustine says:

Thank you for this analogy using the Lord of the Rings. Tolkien was a very devout Christian, and his works reflect the kinds of universal struggles that scripture itself does.

Most importantly you have inspired me to start the Candeo program as soon as I have the money for it. I have been addicted to pornography since I was in elementary school, before the internet. I am now in my mid 40′s and need to break this cycle. God bless. I hope you are staying strong.

Augustine, you are VERY welcome. It was a hard decision to start taking responsibility for my own actions. The first step was talking about it. It’s very helpful for me to think in terms of analogies. Enter Froto, Little Prince, Alice in Wonderland. :)

While you’re saving up for the Candeo program, take some time to listen to all their free podcasts. That’s what I did before I jumped in. They really helped me to get in the proper mindset necessary for taking charge of my own life.

You can do it! You have my support!
